Ryan Briscoe led a Penske one-two at the end of IndyCar's Friday practice in Long Beach. Andretti Autosport's Ryan Hunter-Reay had been in front going into the closing stages, but late quick laps from Briscoe and team-mate Will Power saw the Penske duo hit the front, 0.1482 seconds apart. Scott Dixon was also quick for Ganassi, taking fourth behind Hunter-Reay with a time 0.2807s down on Briscoe
